Keema Pav | Cooking With Archana | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A popular street food in India, Keema Pav is a robust, peppery dish that is mainly an indulgent snack or breakfast.

KEEMA PAV

Ingredients

500 grams minced mutton (keema)
4 white bread slices (pav)
4 tablespoons oil
1 bay leaf
1 inch cinnamon stick
2-3 black peppercorns
2 cloves
2 large onions, finely chopped
1 large tomato, finely chopped
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
¼ teaspoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon mix masala
Salt to taste
Mint leaves for garnishing
Onion slices for serving
½ lemon for serving

Method

1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add bay leaves, cinnamon, black peppercorns and cloves. Add onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, mix masala and salt, sauté till tomatoes turn soft and pulpy.
2. Add minced mutton, ¼ cup water and mix well. Add little water and mix again. Cover and cook till pressure is released 4-5 times.
3. Remove from heat and cool at room temperature. Transfer the keema mixture to a serving bowl.
4. Garnish with mint leaves and serve hot with white bread slices, onion slices and half a lemon.
