Kerala Crispy Fried Chicken/Chicken Kondattam | Indian Mom's Kitchen

A chicken starter dish that can easily be prepared at home.

Ingredients:
1 kg Chicken
2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
2 tsp Coriander powder
2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala
1/2 tsp Fennel
1/2 tsp Cumin (Jeera)
3 tsp Rice flour
2 Red chillies (dry)
1/2 tsp Pepper powder
3 Green chillies
Few Curry leaves
10 Shallots (sliced)
1 Onion (sliced)
1/4 cup Coconut pieces
10 Garlic pods
1 tbsp Lime juice
Coconut oil for deep frying
Salt

Method: First make the Masala paste for marination by grinding together 2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp Coriander powder, 1 tsp Red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp Garam masala, 1/2 tsp Fennel, 1/2 tsp Jeera, 3 Green chillies, few Curry leaves, Lime juice, Salt and very little water. Add 3 tsp Rice flour to the masala paste. Mix well. Marinate the chicken pieces with this masala paste and refrigerate for 1 hour. Deep fry the chicken pieces till crispy on the outside. Reserve 3 tbsp of the same oil and saute the Coconut pieces, Shallots, Onions, Curry leaves, Garlic, Red chillies and fry till Coconut pieces turn brown. Add 1 tsp Coriander powder, 1 tsp Red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp Pepper powder and a little salt. Finally put in the fried chicken and mix well. Chicken Kondattam or Kerala Crispy Fried Chicken is ready to serve. Enjoy!
