Leftover Tadka Roti | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A delicious and simple snack that can be made using leftover rotis.

LEFTOVER TADKA ROTI

Ingredients

4–5 leftover chappati
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
5 – 6 garlic cloves, chopped
1-2 green chillies, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons yogurt
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander + for garnish
Toasted sesame seeds for garnishing

Method

1. Break the chappati into small pieces, heat a nonstick pan with oil.
2. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle, add cumin seeds and sauté until they change their colour.
3. Add garlic , green chillies and sauté well, add onion, mix well and sauté till it goes translucent.
4. Add tomatoes and sauté until they go soft and pulpy, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and sauté well.
5. Add yogurt, mix well and sauté for 2 minutes. Add chappati pieces and toss well.
6. Add salt and mix well, add chopped coriander and remove from heat.
7. Serve hot, garnish with sesame seeds.
