What is banh tet? Banh tet is a Vietnamese rice cake, a staple dish served to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Vietnam. It's a popular dish in Vietnamese culture year round, and if you live near an Asian market or deli, you'll probably be able to give banh tet a try, and I recommend you do. Bnh tt is a cake of sticky rice filled with pork and mung bean paste, wrapped tightly and tied in a banana leaf and then boiled in water for at least six hours. It's super tasty, sweet and sticky and kind of addictive. I've eaten several versions of bnh tt since shooting this video, and I see many more in my future. Give it a try and tell me what you think! For video recipes check out the Chef Buck Recipe playlist: http://www.youtube.com/user/FromUnderTheRock And to discover and print great recipes visit my recipe website at http://www.myfoodchannel.com/ Connect with this media to catch all of my videos...thanks:MY OTHER YOUTUBE CHANNEL: http://www.youtube.com/user/buckredbuckFACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/buckredbuckTWITTER https://twitter.com/buckredbuckINSTAGRAMhttps://www.instagram.com/buckredbuck/GOOGLE+ http://plus.google.com/u/0/109193261972985167770/postsPRINT RECIPES AT MY WEBSITE: http://www.myfoodchannel.com/RECIPE PLAYLISTS: http://www.youtube.com/user/FromUnderTheRockThe music is "Mining by Moonlight" by Kevin MacLeod at http://www.incompetech.com/.
