Mac & Cheese Grilled Sandwich | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Creamy mac and cheese stuffed between bread slices and grilled.

MAC AND CHEESE GRILLED SANDWICH

Ingredients

1 cup boiled macaroni
1 cup grated processed cheese
8 white bread slices
3 tablespoons butter + as required
3 tablespoons refined flour (maida)
1½ cups milk
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
4 cheese slices

Method

1. To make cheese sauce, heat 3 tablespoons butter in a non-stick pan. Add flour and sauté well.
2. Add milk, mix well and cook till sauce thickens. Add salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.
3. Add grated cheese and mix till it melts. Remove from heat and set aside.
4. Mix together macaroni and cheese sauce in a bowl.
5. Spread some butter on bread slices. Top half the bread slices with a generous portion of mac and cheese mixture. Place a cheese slice on each and cover with remaining bread slices.
6. Heat a non-stick sandwich griller and brush with some butter. Place sandwiches in it, one by one, cover and grill till grill marks appear on both sides.
7. Cut into triangles and serve immediately with tomato ketchup.
