Enjoy this delicious and easy-to-make bengali style fish curry with a bowl of hot steamed rice.MACHER JHOL BHAATIngredients4 rohu darnes2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into wedgesSalt to taste½ tsp turmeric powderMustard Oil to shallow fry2 tbsps oil2 bay leaves2 medium onions, grated1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste2 medium tomatoes, grated1 tsp red chilli powder½ tsp cumin powder½ tsp sugarSteamed rice for serving Method1. Transfer the fish darnes in a bowl. Add potatoes, salt, turmeric powder and mix well with light hands.2. Heat sufficient mustard oil in a shallow nonstick pan. Add the fish and potato pieces and fry till crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside.3. Heat oil in a deep nonstick pan. Add bay leaves, grated onions and sauté till brown.4. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté till raw flavor goes away. Add tomatoes and sauté till pulpy.5. Add red chilli powder, cumin powder and mix well. Add 1½ cups water and mix well.6. Add salt, sugar and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil. Add the fried fish and potatoes. Bring to a boil and take the pan off the heat.7.
