Malai Paneer Samosa | Holi Special | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Samosa pattis stuffed with creamy cottage cheese and green pea mixture, deep fried to perfection.

MALAI PANEER SAMOSA

Ingredients

1 cup grated cottage cheese (paneer)
8-12 samosa pattis
1 tablespoon oil + for deep-frying
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
5-6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
½ inch ginger, finely chopped
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ cup green peas, boiled
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Refined flour (maida) slurry for sealing

Method

1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and let the seeds crackle.
2. Add garlic, ginger and green chillies, mix and sauté for a minute. Add onions, mix and sauté till translucent.
3. Add turmeric powder and mix. Add green peas and mix. Add cottage cheese, mix well and cook till done.
4. Add salt and garam masala powder, mix well and cook for a minute. Remove from heat.
5. Fold samosa pattis into cones, stuff with a portion of cottage cheese mixture and shape into samosas, sealing the edges with slurry.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry samosas till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
