#masaladalkhichdi A delicious and easy Masala Dal Khichdi is packed with flavored and a few simple spices.Ingredients QuantityRice (soaked) 1 cupYellow Moong dal (soaked) 1 cupWater as requiredSalt to tasteTurmeric powder 1 tspGreen Chillies (slit) 5-6 noBay leaf 1 noGhee 2 tbspAsafoetida tspCumin seeds 1 tspGinger chopped 1 tbspGarlic chopped 1 tbspOnion chopped 1 noTomato chopped 2 noSalt to tasteRed chilli powder 1 tspFor tempering Ghee 1 tbspAsafoetida tspRed chilli powder tspBrown onion for garnish. Method:-1. In a pressure cooker, add soaked rice and moong dal, then add water into it.2. Add salt, turmeric powder, green chillies, bay leaf and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles.3. Keep pressure cooker aside. Heat some water for further use.4. Take kadai add ghee, asafetida, cumin seeds. Mix well and saute.5. Add ginger, garlic and saute for a while.6. Then add onion and saute for 3-4 minutes on medium flame until onion is slightly brown.7. Further add tomato. Mix it well.8. Now take the prepared khichidi and mash it with wooden mathani.9. Add salt, red chilli powder. Mix it well.10. Pour the khichidi into kadai and add hot water for better consistency. Mix it well.11. Cook for 3-4 minutes.12. For tempering. Take a pan, add ghee and melt it.13. Then add asafetida, red chilli powder cook it well.14. Serve the prepared Masala Dal Khichidi in a serving bowl.15. Pour the tempering on top of it. Garnish with brown onion.16.
