MASALA NAAN

Ingredients

1 cup refined flour (maida) + for dusting
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp castor sugar
Salt to taste
2 tbsps yogurt
1 tsp chaat masala
2 tsps Tata Sampann Kasuri Methi
½ tsp red chilli powder
Onion seeds for sprinkling
Chopped fresh coriander leaves for sprinkling
Butter for brushing
Sabzi to serve

Method

1. Make a soft dough using refined flour, yogurt, baking soda, sugar, salt and yogurt and water. Set the dough aside for 1-2 hours.
2. For spice mix, add chaat masala in a bowl. Slightly dry roast Tata Sampann Kasuri Methi on a non-stick tawa and crush them between your palms and transfer them into the same bowl.
3. Add red chilli powder in the same bowl and mix well. Set aside.
4. Heat a pressure upside down on medium heat.
5. Dip your palm in water and take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball and slightly flatten it.
6. Dust the worktop with refined flour and place the portion of the dough on it. Roll it into a thick disc.
7. Sprinkle a little onion seeds and chopped coriander and roll it slightly. Apply a little water on the plain side.
8. Flip the cooker and place it on heat. Stick the prepared disc on one wall of the cooker, place the cooker upside down again on direct heat and cook till the naan is cooked and dark brown specs appear on top.
9. Take the naan off the heat and place it on a serving plate. Brush butter and sprinkle a little of the prepared spice mix.
10. Serve hot with Sabzi.
