Masoor Dal with Tomato | Aramoni's Akhol | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A delicious masoor dal recipe made in authentic Assamese style.
MASOOR DAL WITH TOMATO

Ingredient

1 cup split red lentil (masoor dal), wash
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
salt to taste
1 medium tomato, chopped
2 tablespoon mustard oil
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
2-3 dry red chillies
1 teaspoon chopped coriander for garnish

Method

1. Add split red lentil in a pressure cooker, add 2 cups of water, salt, turmeric powder and tomato, pressure cook for 2 whistle.
2. Heat mustard oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds once it crackle, add dry red chillies, cooked split red lentil dal and sauté for 2-3 minutes
3. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
