Indian breads will always regale the food lover. Missi roti is like a savory short crust pastry, easy to break and melts in the mouth though it looks like a tough cookie. I love it with thick dal. MISSI ROTIIngredients1 cup gram flour (besan)½ cup whole wheat flour (atta) + for dusting ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder1 teaspoon chaat masala 1 teaspoon dried pomegranate seeds 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves 1 medium onion, finely chopped1 tablespoon oil Salt to tasteGhee for greasing and brushing Method 1. Mix together gram flour, wheat flour, turmeric powder, chaat masala, dried pomegranate seeds, green chillies, coriander leaves, onions, oil and salt in a bowl. 2. Add water, little by little and knead into a soft dough. Cover with a muslin cloth and set aside to rest for 10 minutes. 3. Preheat oven to 200º C. 4. Dust the worktop with some wheat flour. Divide the dough into equal portions and flatten the portions to shape into small discs. 5. Grease a baking tray with some ghee. 6. Transfer the rotis on the tray and brush with ghee. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 5-6 minutes7. Top with butter and serve hot with mooli ki sabzi.
