A flavourful and comforting roti that pairs along well with almost everything!

MISSI ROTI

Ingredients

1½ cups whole wheat flour + for dusting
½ cup Tata Sampann Fine Besan
1 small onion, finely chopped
½ tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
Salt to taste
A pinch of turmeric powder
1-2 tsps oil
Sabzi to serve
Ghee for drizzling
Quartered onions to serve
Lemon wedges to serve
Green chillies to serve

Method

1. In a parat, add whole wheat flour, besan, onion, kasuri methi, salt, turmeric powder, and mix well.
2. Drizzle oil and mix till well combined. Add water and knead to soft dough, cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside for 5-7 minutes.
3. Heat a non-stick tawa, meanwhile, take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball, roll in whole wheat flour and flatten it. Roll into a roti.
4. Dust the excess flour and place the roti on the hot tawa. Cook for 1 minute, flip and apply ghee. Repeat this process till the roti is cooked completely and brown specks appear on it.
5. Apply a little ghee before serving. Serve hot with sabzi, quartered onions, lemon wedges and green chillies.
