Mixed Sprout Pulao | Recipes Under 15 Minutes | Chef Jaaie | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Mixed sprout pulao is a nutritious dish due to the numerous sprouts used in making this recipe. The spices and the rice make it a homely dish, a perfect comfort food.

MIXED SPROUT PULAO

Ingredients

1½ cups mixed sprouts
1 cup Basmati rice, soaked
2 tablespoons ghee
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
2 medium onions, sliced
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
Fresh coriander sprig for garnishing

Method

1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and sauté till it changes colour.
2. Add onions, mixed sprouts, ginger-garlic paste and salt and sauté on high heat for 3-4 minutes.
3. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder and mix. Add drained rice and mix well.
4. Add 3 cups of water and mix. Cover and pressure cook for 5-6 minutes. Open the lid when the pressure is completely released.
5. Serve hot garnished with a coriander sprig.
