A wholesome and delicious burger prepared with a crispy moong patty, veggies and cheese. Bite on!

MOONG BURGER

Ingredients

1½ cups boiled whole green gram (moong)
4 burger buns, halved and toasted
½ tbsp butter
1 tsp oil
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped celery
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
Salt to taste
2 tbsps chopped fresh parsley
½ cup dried breadcrumbs
2 tsps lemon juice
A large pinch of sugar
¼ cup tomato ketchup
½ cup hung yogurt
Lettuce leaves as required
4 cheese slices
Sliced onions as required
Tomato slices as required
Mustard sauce as required
Potato chips to serve
Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

1. Heat butter and oil in a non stick pan , add garlic, celery, green chilli and sauté for a few seonds.. Add onions and sauté till translucent.
2. Add salt, boiled moong and mix well. Transfer in a bowl and mash with a masher.
3. Add parsley, dried breadcrumbs, lemon juice, sugar and mix well.
4. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
5. Heat oil in a shallow nonstick pan. Place the prepared patties and shallow fry on both the sides for 2 minutes on medium heat. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside.
6. Take tomato ketchup in a bowl. Add hung yogurt and mix well.
7. Apply the prepared spread on both the sides of the burger bun and place lettuce on one side. Place the patty and top up with cheese slice, onion roundels and tomato slices.
8. Sprinkle salt on top. Drizzle mustard sauce and close with the remaining half of the burger bun.
9. Serve with tomato ketchup and potato chips.
