Moong Dal Waffle In Gujarati | Snacky Ideas by Amisha Doshi | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Delicious unique breakfast recipe of savoury waffles made using soaked moong dal batter.

MOONG DAL WAFFLE

Ingredients

1 cup split green gram (moong dal), soaked for 3-4 hours and drained
2 tablespoons boiled and crushed corn kernels
2 tablespoons boiled and crushed green peas
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Salt to taste
2 teaspoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
1 tablespoon chopped cashewnuts
1 tablespoon raisins
Oil for greasing
1 teaspoon green chutney
2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Method

1. Grind split green gram alongwith some water into coarse and semi-thick mixture. Transfer in a bowl.
2. Add corn kernels and green peas to the batter and mix. Add green chillies, crushed peppercorns, salt and coriander leaves and mix. Add cashewnuts and raisins and mix well.
3. Preheat an electric waffle iron.
4. Add baking soda to the batter and mix well.
5. Grease the preheated waffle iron with some oil. Pour some batter, cover and toast from both sides till golden brown and crisp.
6. To prepare chutney mayonnaise dip, mix together mayonnaise and green chutney in a bowl.
7. Spread some chutney mayonnaise dip on two sides of a serving platter. Place waffles on the other side and serve hot.
