This khichdi is as delicious as it looks and nutritious too

MOONG MATAR KI KHICHDI

Ingredients

¾ cup whole green gram (sabut moong), soaked
¾ cup shelled green peas
1½ cups rice, soaked
3 tbsps pure ghee
½ tsp cumin seeds
1 inch cinnamon
10-12 black peppercorns
10-12 cloves
¼ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
Salt to taste
2 green chillies, chopped
1 inch ginger
5-6 garlic cloves

Method

1. Heat a rice cooker on cook mode. Heat 3 tbsps ghee in it. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, black peppercorns, cloves, carom seeds and mix and saute till fragrant.
2. Add green grams, salt and green chillies. Cover and cook.
3. Roughly chop together ginger, garlic and green peas in a chopper and add to the cooker.
4. Drain and add rice and mix. Add 6 cups water, cover and cook till done.
5. Serve hot.
