Munagaku Pappu | ఆరోగ్యానికి ఎంతో మేలుచేసే మునగాకు పప్పు | Drumstick Leaves Dal | Munagaku Recipes

INGREDIENTS
1. Drumstick Leaves - 2 Cups
2. Red Gram - 1 Cup
3. Tomato - 1
4. Green Chillies - 5
5. Tamarind - 30 Gramsa
6. Garlic Cloves - 5-6
7. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
8. Salt - 1 1/2 Teaspoon
9. Dried Chillies - 2
10. Curry Leaves - 1/2 Cup
11. Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
12. Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
13. Oil - 2 Tablespoons

To a pressure cooker, add 1 cup washed red gram, washed drumstick leaves, 5 chopped green chillies, pieces of 1 tomato, washed tamarind, 3 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric. Close the lid and cook for 4-5 whistles. Let the cooker cool down and open the lid. Mash the cooked dal. Add 1 1/2 teaspoon salt. Chilli powder also could be added if desired. Let's prepare tempering now. Grind garlic cloves coarsly. Heat a pan and 2 tablespoons oil. Add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, pieces of 2-3 dried chillies and fry. Add grinded garlic cloves and fry for a minute. Add curry leaves. Add cooked drumstick leaves and dal. Add water as required. Cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
