METHOD FOR MAKING NAMAK PARA:

INGREDIENTS
1. Wheat flour - 1 cup
2. Ajowan - 1 teaspoon
3. Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
4. Clarified butter(ghee) - 2 teaspoons
5. Oil - sufficient for deep fry

To a mixing bowl, add 1 cup wheat flour. Add 1 teaspoon ajowan, 1/2 teaspoon salt and mix. Add 2 teaspoons heated clarified butter(ghee) and mix. This gives crispness. Keep adding water and mix it into a chapathi like dough. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Mix the dough again, make small balls out of the dough, press it like a chapathi. Cut it into thin ribbons with a knife as shown. Then cut them horizontally. It could be cut into any shape and size. Heat oil sufficient for deep fry. Put the dough pieces one by one in oil and fry them till they become dark brown. Store them in an air tight container after they cool down.
