This Masaledar Chai topped with pista powder and dried rose petals will help kick start your day with a bang!

NOON CHAI

Ingredients

2 tsps tea leaves
A pinch of salt
1 inch cinnamon stick
2 green cardamoms
1 star anise
½ tsp baking soda
1 cup milk
2½ tbsps sugar
Powdered pistachios for garnish
Dried rose petals for garnish
Nankhatai to serve


Method

1. Heat 1½ cups water in a deep saucepan, add tea leaves and mix well. Bring to a boil.
2. Add cinnamon stick, green cardamoms, star anise and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.
3. Add salt, baking soda and mix well. Add milk and mix well.
4. Add sugar and cook till the sugar melts. Take the pan off the heat.
5. Strain the tea in a cup, garnish with powdered pistachios, dried rose petal and serve hot with naankhatai.
