A twisted and healthy recipe of upma made by replacing semolina with oats.OATS UPMAIngredients 1½ cups oats 1 medium onion, finely chopped1 medium tomato, chopped2 green chillies, roughly chopped3-4 fresh coriander sprigs, chopped1½ tablespoons oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)¼ teaspoon asafoetidaSalt to taste ¼ cup frozen green peasA pinch of sugarFresh coriander sprig for garnishingLemon wedges for garnishingGreen coconut chutney for serving Method1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add split skinless black gram and sauté on medium heat for 30 seconds. 2. Reduce heat, add asafeotida, green chillies and curry leaves and let the curry leaves crackle. 3. Add onion and mix. Add salt, mix, cover and cook for 2 minutes. Add tomato, green peas and sugar, mix, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.4. Add oats and coriander leaves and mix. Add 2½ cups water, mix, cover and cook on low heat for 4-5 minutes. 5. Place a serving bowl on one side of a serving platter. Put oats upma in the bowl and garnish with coriander sprig and lemon wedges.6.
