Ordering EVERY SINGLE ITEM from a Chye Png Stall! Giant Chye Png Mukbang! Singapore Street Food!

For this episode, we went down to Chwee Hua Mixed Vegetable Rice to devour every single dish from a Chye Png stall! Chye Png, also known as economic rice, is a type of food stall offering rice with a wide selection of dishes for you to choose from. You can add meat, seafood and vegetables and such stalls are usually known for their affordability. Moreover, this stall is owned by our very own Eatbooks Chiaras (@chiaraang) dad!

As promised, I ordered everything offered, including clams, pig trotters, chicken, copious amounts of vegetables and eggs, together with 6 portions of rice, forming a Giant Chye Png. It was a warm and comforting meal that reminded me of home. Nothing was too overpowering, be it too salty, sweet or spicy. The standout dish would be the pig trotters that is also Chwee Huas Signature dish, being extremely tender and braised in a rich and flavourful broth.

I was initially surprised at the consistently long queue at the shop, but I realised why after my initial few bites. The food feels very homemade and would certainly bring out the nostalgia in many, especially to the elderly folk that formed the bulk of the queue. I would also consider this one of the healthier Chye Pngs I have eaten, vegetable heavy and never too oily or salty. I barely felt my usual discomfort after completing this Eating Every Dish challenge.

Head down to Chwee Hua Mixed Vegetable for excellent home-cooked Chye Png, you may even spot Chiara there!
