Palak Lobia Missal

Palak Lobia Missal Pav is popular Maharashtrian breakfast. There are many variations in missal Pav. You can have this as breakfast lunch or brunch. This is spicy curry with Black-eyed beans (Lobia). It is served with Pav, onion, Lemon and Toped with Farsaan . Enjoy Palak Lobia Missal Pav.

Ingredient Quantity
Black-eyed beans (Lobia) 1 cup
Spinach puree 1 cup
Potato boiled 1 no.
Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
Garlic chopped 1 tbsp
Green chilli chopped 3-4 no.
Onion chopped 1 no.
Tomato chopped 2 no.
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Red chilli powder 1½ tsp
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1½ tsp
Salt to taste
Farsan 3-4 tbsp
Pav 2 no.
Coriander chopped 1 tbsp
Oil 2 -3 tbsp

Method:
1. Heat water in a pan, add salt and lobia, mix well and boil till lobia is cook well.
2. Remove in a bowl (Don’t throw the water) and keep it aside.
3. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped ginger and garlic, mix well and sauté for 1 min.
4. Add green chilli chopped, mix well and sauté for 30 sec.
5. Add chopped onion, mix well and sauté f or3-4 min.
6. Add chopped tomato and mix well.
7. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder and salt, mix well and sauté for 2 min.
8. Add boiled lobia (Keep some with water) and potato, mash and mix well.
9. Add water and remaining lobia, mix well and bring to boil.
10. Add spinach puree and coriander chopped, mix well and cook for 1 min.
11. Remove in serving bowl, add farsaan on top and serve hot with paav, chopped onion and lemon slice.
