Pears layered with fruit buns, topped with custard and baked

PEAR BREAD PUDDING

Ingredients

2 medium pears (gabbu gosha)
2 fruit buns
2 tbsps vanilla custard powder
3 cups milk
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsps raisins (kishmish)
6 tbsps sugar

Method

1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
2. Add vanilla custard powder to milk and mix till smooth. Pour into a deep non-stick pan and cook, stirring intermittently, till thick.
3. Quarter pears, remove core and slice roughly.
4. Heat butter in another non-stick pan, add pear slices and saute. Add raisins and 3 tbsps sugar and mix.
5. Slice fruit buns and spread one layer in a baking dish.
6. Add 3 tbsps sugar to the custard and mix.
7. Put the sautéed pears over the bun layer in the dish. Place another layer of fruit bun slices. Pour the custard over and tap the dish lightly so that custard drizzles to the bottom of the dish.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
9. Serve warm.
