Pesara Pappu Charu

Ingredients:
Green Gram Dal: 1 Cup
Water: as needed
Tamarind: 2 to 3 Reeds soaked
Tomatoes: 2 finely chopped
Onion: 1 finely chopped
Green Chilies: 4 to 5 slit or as needed
Salt: as needed
Turmeric Powder: 1/4 Teaspoon
Coriander Leaves: a few finely chopped
Oil: 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Mustard Seeds: 1/2 a Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds: 1/2 a Teaspoon
Red Chilies: 2 to 3

Method of Preparation:
Take a Cup of Green Gram in a cooker and wash it 2 to 3 times.
Add 2 to 2 1/2 Cups of Water and cook it for 2 to 3 whistles.
Soak 2 to 3 Reeds of Tamarind and soak it.

Add soaked tamarind pulp, 2 Tomatoes finely chopped, an Onion finely chopped,
Add 4 to 5 Green Chilies slit, or as needed. Salt as needed.
Add 1/4 Tsp of Turmeric Powder, Chili Powder can also be added if needed.
Boil the dal for some time. Add some finely chopped Coriander Leaves
Heat a pan with 1 1/2 Tbsp of Oil, .add 1/2 a Tsp of Mustard Seeds and Cumin Seeds each, and let splutter.
Add 2 to 3 Red Chilies, 3 to 4 Garlic Cloves and 2 to 3 Reeds of Curry Leaves and add the temper to the boiling dal, mix and put off the flame.
