Pizza Croissant | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

The flavour of your favourite cheese pizza in the form of a croissant. A must try !

PIZZA CROISSANT

Ingredients

Pizza dough as required
Pizza sauce for spreading
Refined flour (maida) for dusting
Olive oil for brushing
Fresh basil leaves as required
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Method

1. Place the proven dough on the worktop and knock back to release excess air. Dust with some flour and knead well.
2. Roll out the dough into ½ cm thick sheet and trim the ends to shape into a square sheet.
3. Cut the sheet into 3-4 inch thick strips and further cut the strips into triangles.
4. Brush some olive oil and spread pizza sauce on each triangle. Place 1 basil leaf in the centre and spread some mozzarella cheese on one line of each triangle and roll to shape into croissant.
5. Preheat oven to 180˚C.
6. Grease a baking tray with some olive oil, place the croissants, cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 10-15 minutes.
7. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and slightly cool.
8. Serve warm.
