This cake was traditionally made with a pound each of its four main ingredients that is flour, butter, eggs and sugar. Now bake the world a better place!POUND CAKEIngredients1¼ cups refined flour (maida) + for dusting1¼ cups butter + for greasing 1¼ cups castor sugar5 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 teaspoon baking powderSalt to taste2 tablespoons milkMethod1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a loaf tin with some butter and dust with some flour. 2. Cream butter using an electric beater till light. Add castor sugar and cream again till fluffy. 3. Break in eggs, gradually and whisk. Add vanilla essence and whisk again. 4. Sieve in together flour, baking powder and salt, fold with spatula. Add milk and mix well. 5. Pour the batter in the greased tin and tap. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. Remove from oven, cool and demould. 6. Slice and serve.
