Prawns cooked in a flavourful gravy along with potatoes is the perfect weekday lunch option for you.

PRAWN AND POTATO RASSA

Ingredients

15-20 medium prawns, deveined, cleaned and washed
½ cup fresh scraped coconut
1 green chilli
8-10 garlic cloves
1 small onion, cut into quarters
2 tbsps freshly chopped coriander leaves
½ tsp Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1½ tbsps tamarind pulp
2 tbsps oil
2 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled
1 medium onion, finely chopped
Coriander sprig for garnish

Method

1. In a blender jar, add coconut, green chilli, 4-5 garlic cloves, onion and chopped coriander. Add a little water and blend to a fine paste. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, add prawns, Tata Sampann Turmeric Powder, red chilli powder, salt, tamarind pulp and the prepared paste. Mix well and set aside for 8-10 minutes.
3. Heat oil in an earthen pot, crush remaining garlic cloves and add in the oil. Cook till it turns golden brown. Sautéing occasionally.
4. Meanwhile, cut potatoes boiled and peeled into 1 inch pieces and set aside.
5. Add onion into the garlic mixture and sauté till it turns golden brown in colour.
6. Add prawns and potatoes, sauté on high heat for 3-4 minutes. Add 1½ cups water and mix well. Cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Take it off the heat.
7. Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
