Prawn Curry | Family Food Tales with Mrs Alyona Kapoor | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Prawns cooked in freshly ground masala to make this delicious curry.

PRAWN CURRY

Ingredients

For marinating
16 medium prawns, shelled and deveined
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon Chilli powder
¼ turmeric powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice
For paste
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup grated fresh coconut
1 tablespoon red chilli powder
2 teaspoons coriander seeds
1 teaspoon rice flour
For curry
1 medium onion, chopped
6-7 drumstick, boiled
1 tablespoon fresh tamarind pulp
2 tablespoons coconut milk
A few sprigs of fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped

Method

1. Mix together prawn, turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder and set aside for 10-15 minutes
2. To make paste, add coconut, chilli powder, coriander seeds, water as required and grind into smooth paste. add rice flour and set aside
3. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a non-stick pan. Add onions, and cook till it turn golden brown
4. Add drumstick and sauté for a 2-3 minutes
5. Add marinated prawns and some water and Add sauté for a 2-3 minutes.
6. Add prepare paste in a same pan and add little water and stir well.
7. Add fresh tamarind pulp and cook till prawns are done, add coriander and switch off heat.
8. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
