Puffed rice tempered with mild spices, peanuts and green peas to make this quick and easy upma at home.PUFFED RICE UPMAIngredients1½ cups puffed rice (kurmura)1 tablespoon oil1 teaspoon mustard seeds1 tablespoon split Bengal gram (chana dal)8-10 curry leaves1-2 green chillies, chopped1 tablespoon raw peanuts1 medium onion, finely chopped¼ cup green peas¼ teaspoon turmeric powder½ teaspoon red chilli powderSalt to taste Method1. Soak puffed rice in sufficient water. Squeeze and set aside. 2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let the seeds splutter. 3. Add Bengal gram, curry leaves and green chillies, mix and sauté well. Add peanuts and onion, mix and sauté till onion turns translucent.4. Add green peas and mix. Add turmeric powder and chilli powder, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. 5. Add some water and mix. Add puffed rice and mix. Add salt, mix and cook for a minute. 6. Serve hot.
