Ragi Chakli Nachni Chakli Diwali Special Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Chakli ke bina Diwali ki celebration shuru nahi hoti, toh iss saal banao dhamakedaar ragi chakli. Festive snack mein millets matlab double the fun and frolic.

RAGI CHAKLI

Ingredients

cup finger millet (ragi) flour
2 tbsps butter
Salt to taste
1 tsp cumin seeds
cup fine semolina (suji)
1 tbsp oil +for greasing + for deep frying

Method

1. Heat a nonstick pan. Add 1 cups water and once it comes to a boil, add butter, cumin seeds and allow the butter to melt.
2. Add semolina and finger millet flour and mix well. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
3. Transfer the mixture in a parat and add 1 tbsp oil and knead well to form a smooth dough.
4. Grease a chakli press and transfer the mixture in it which is fitted with chakli attachment. Press small chaklis on the worktop.
5. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and slide the prepared chaklis and deep fry till crisp.
6. Drain on absorbent paper and allow to cool.
7. Serve.
