Rava Idli made with semolina or sooji batter is a super quick and healthy breakfast recipe that can be made without fermenting the batter anytime. Idlis are a savoury snack and are enjoyed best with some sambar and chutney.

In this video, I will share my recipe of Instant Idli (Plain) and Kanchipuram Idlis. Kanchipuram idlis are a well-known variety of idlis with mustard, cumin, pepper and ginger and veggies of your choice.

~Instant Rava Idli~
Makes 12nos
Prep Time - 30mins
Cooking time - 12mins

Ingredients:
FOR PLAIN RAWA IDLI
Rava (suji/semolina) - 1cup
Curd - ½ cup
Salt - ½ tsp
Water - ¾ cup (approx)
Baking Soda or Eno - 1tsp
Oil - for greasing

FOR KANCHIPURAM IDLI
Rava (suji/semolina) - 1cup
Curd - ½ cup
Salt - ½ tsp
Water - ¾ cup (approx)
Baking Soda or Eno - 1tsp
Oil - for greasing

For Tempering:
Oil - 4tbsp
Asafoetida - ¼ tsp
Mustard seeds - 2tsp
Cumin - 2tsp
Green chilli chopped - 1tsp
Ginger chopped - 2tsp
Chana dal - 1tbsp
Urad dal - 1tbsp
Curry leaves - a handful
Cashew nut broken - 2tbsp
Turmeric - ¼ tsp
Crushed black pepper - ½ tsp
Carrots Grated - ¼ cup
Salt - to taste
Oil - for greasing idli moulds
