Sabudana Kheer | Navratri Special | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Sabudana cooked in sweetened milk. A perfect dessert to have during the fasting period.

SABUDANA KHEER

Ingredients

5 cups milk
¼ cup sago (sabudana), soaked for 6-8 hours
Few saffron strands
¼ cup castor sugar
¼ teaspoon green cardamom powder
8-10 almonds, blanched, peeled and sliced

Method

1. Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan. Add saffron strands, mix and cook till the milk slightly reduces, stirring frequently.
2. Add sago, castor sugar, green cardamom powder and almonds, mix and cook till the sago is done.
3. Serve warm or chilled garnished with some saffron strands.
