A classic Saada Sandwich, loaded with veggies is a must-try street snack in Mumbai. How do you like the filling of your sandwich?SADA SANDWICHIngredients8 white bread slices1 star anise15-20 black peppercorns10-12 cloves2 inch cinnamon stick4 tsps fennel seeds1 tbsp cumin seeds1½ tsps citric acid (nimbu phool)1 tsp chaat masala ½ tsp dry mango powder (amchur)½ tsp black salt1 tsp Tata Sampann Chilli Powder1 medium cucumber, peeled1 medium onion1 medium capsicum1 medium tomato1 medium potato, boiled and peeled1 medium beetroot, boiled and peeledButter for applyingGreen chutney as requiredSev for garnishTomato ketchup to serveMethod 1. Dry roast star anise, black peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon stick, fennel seeds and cumin seeds in a non-stick pan till the whole spices become fragrant. Set aside for cool slightly.2. Take the roasted whole spices in a blender jar along with citric acid, chaat masala, amchur, black salt and Tata Sampann Chilli Powder. Blend to a fine powder.3. Thinly slice cucumber, onion, capsicum, tomato, potato and beetroot.4. Trim the sides of the white bread slices.5. For making one sandwich, apply butter and green chutney on one side of two slices of bread. On one slice, place 4 potato slices and sprinkle prepared sandwich masala. Place a few onion slices, cucumber slices and sprinkle prepared sandwich masala. Place a few tomato slices and a few capsicum slices and a beetroot slice. Sprinkle prepared sandwich masala and cover with the remaining bread slice.6. Cut each sandwich into six equal portion, apply butter and green chutney on top. Garnish with sev and serve it with tomato ketchup.
