#samakechawalkikhichdi Sanwa millet (Echinochloa frumantacea, Sama ke chawal) is a tiny, white grain which is bigger in size than semolina but smaller than sago (sabudana). It is often called as 'sanwa rice' or sama ka chawal as it is similar to broken rice after cooking. However after cooking it's a bit sticky and the grains are not as separate as cooked rice. It can be eaten while one is fasting.Ingredients Quantity Sama 2 cupGhee 1 tbspCumin seeds 1 tbspGreen chilies 3-4 no.Ginger chopped 1 tspPotatoes 1 cupPeanuts cupShenda salt to tasteWater 4 cupCurd for serving.Method 1. In pan add ghee, cumin seeds, ginger chopped, green chilies chopped and saut it for few mins.2. Now add potatoes and saut for some time.3. Now the peanuts and saut with the potatoes.4. Add the salt to taste and let all of it to cook for some time.5. Now add the Sama (millets) saut for 2 mins and add double the water in the pan, and let it cook till potatoes, peanuts and Sama is cooked properly.6. Our Sama ki khichdi is ready to serve.7.
