Carrots and turnips add a special taste to the traditional sarson ka saagSARSON KA SAAG WITH SHALGAM AND GAJARIngredients1 kg fresh mustard leaves200 gms fresh spinach200 gms fresh bathua4 tbsps ghee2 medium onions, chopped1 tbsp chopped ginger1 tbsp chopped garlic2-3 green chillies, roughly chopped1 medium turnip1 medium carrotSalt to taste2 tsps corn meal (makki ka atta)2 tbsps fresh home-made white butterMethod1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add onion and saute for 2 minutes. 2. Roughly chop fresh mustard leaves.3. Add ginger and garlic to the pan and saute. Add green chillies, mustard leaves and bathua. 4. Roughly chop spinach and add. Roughly chop turnip and carrot and add. Mix everything well.5. Add salt and 1 cup water and mix well. Cover and cook till all the vegetables are tender.6. Blend with a hand blender. Add ½ cup water and mix.7. Add corn meal and mix well. Add home-made butter and mix well.8.
