It's time for a Royal Bite! Make this Mouth-melting Shahi Tukda at your home with this simple recipe- one hell of a treat to your taste buds.

SHAHI TUKDA

Ingredients

1 litre full fat milk
½ cup mawa
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp green cardamom powder
5 slices of white bread
Ghee for deep frying
2 cups ready-made sugar syrup
A few strands of saffron + for garnish
1 tbsp rose water
6-7 pistachios, blanched, peeled and cut into slivers
6-7 almonds, blanched, peeled and cut into slivers
Silver warq for garnish
Dried rose petals for garnish

Method

1. Heat milk in a non-stick deep bottom pan, bring it to a boil. Scrape the sides of the pan and keep stirring it occasionally.
2. Add mawa and mix well. Cook till the milk reduces to 1/4th quantity. Add sugar and ¼ tsp green cardamom powder, mix well. Cook for 1 minute. Refrigerate till chilled.
3. Heat ghee in another non-stick pan, meanwhile, trim the edges of the bread slices and cut into triangles.
4. Deep fry the triangles in hot ghee till golden and crispy. Drain on an absorbent paper.
5. Heat sugar syrup in another non-stick pan, add saffron, remaining green cardamom powder and rose water, mix well. Take it off the heat.
6. Dip the fried bread triangles in the prepared syrup from both sides. Place the prepared triangles on a serving plate; pour over the chilled rabdi on it.
7. Garnish with pistachios, almonds, saffron strands and silver warq. Place a few dried rose petals and serve immediately.
