Here Im using 1/2 of a bottle gourd

Dice it into smaller pieces

Add these to a pressure cooker along with 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tomato, 1 onion, 5-6 garlic cloves, some water, and 2 tbsp green gram.

Green gram is optional, but it makes the soup thicker and is a great addition of proteins

Let it sit for 10 minutes, close the lid and cook for 3 whistles

Open the lid after the cooker cools down

Add all these to a mixie jar and grind it into a soft paste

This can be mashed as is for a coarse texture

Boil the vegetable broth and add the prepared paste

Now add water as needed, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper powder and mix

Simmer for a couple of minutes

Sprinkle coriander leaves and mix

Lets prepare tempering now

This step is optional

Heat 1 tsp clarified butter (ghee) in a pan

Then add 1/2 tsp shahjeera, 2-3 dried chilies, 1 tsp ginger pieces and cut off the stove

Add this tempering to the simmering soup

Serve hot!

Bottle Gourd - 1/2
Tomato - 1
Onions - 1
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic Cloves - 5-6
Green Gram -2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
For tempering

Shahjeera - 1/2 tsp
Dried Chilies - 2-3
Ginger Pieces - 1 tsp
Clarified Butter (ghee) - 1 tsp
