STEAMED TOFU WITH CHICKEN MINCE

Ingredients

75 gms tofu
100 gms chicken mince
Salt to taste
1 tsp soy sauce
1½ tsps cornstarch
1 egg
1 small broccoli
4 tsps sesame oil
Black pepper powder to taste

Method

1. Cut tofu into small cubes.
2. Place chicken mince in a bowl, add salt, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1½ tsps cornstarch, 1 egg and mix well.
3. Heat 1½ cups water in a wide non-stick pan. Line a bamboo steamer with banana leaves.
4. Take a porcelain bowl that will fit into the steamer.
5. Put half the tofu into the bowl, top it with chicken mince mixture. Put the remaining tofu over it.
6. Cut broccoli into small florets and spread over the tofu. Drizzle sesame oil and sprinkle salt and pepper powder.
7. Place the bowl in the steamer, cover with the bamboo lid and steam for 10 minutes.
8. Serve hot in the steamer itself.
