Strawberry And Plum Jam | Cooksmart | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

This lovely coloured jam is as tasty as it looks

STRAWBERRY AND PLUM JAM

Ingredients

250 gms strawberries, hulled and roughly chopped
250 gms plums
Sugar as required
Juice of 1 lemon

Method

1. Halve plums, remove seeds and roughly chop. Put them into a mixer jar.
2. Keeping aside 6 strawberries, add the rest to the mixer jar and grind to a fine puree.
3. Measure the puree and put into a pan and cook. Add equal measure of sugar and stir till it dissolves.
4. Roughly chop the reserved strawberries and add to the pan. Add lemon juice, mix and cook till the mixture thickens to jam consistency.
5. To test put a spoonful of jam in a plate and let it cool. If it remains steady when the plate is tilted, it means the jam is done.
6. Pour the jam into sterilized bottle when still hot. Put the lid and store. Use as and when required.
