SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN
In this episode, I'd like to share with you, how to prepare one of the most popular Chinese dishes at home. It is so easy to make and healthy.

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 kg. (1 Pound) Chicken thigh (coarsely chopped, at room temp)
2 of each: carrot, onion, red and green bell pepper (coarsely chopped)
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp cornstarch
1 egg
Olive oil, sunflower oil, salt, pepper

FOR THE SAUCE:
2 tbsp of each: Soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, granulated sugar

DIRECTIONS:

Beat 1 egg with 1 tbsp olive oil.
Add 1/2 cup cornstarch and whisk.
Continiue whisking, add 1 tbsp of soy sauce and 1/2 cup water.
Add chicken into the mixture, set aside.
Mix 2 tbsp corn starch with 1/4 cup of water, set aside.
Heat up a pan and pour 1-2 tbsp of olive oil.
Pour chopped vegetables into the pan.
Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper then saute for 2-3 minutes.
Pour the sauce, add 2 and 1/2 cups water, let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat 1/4 cup sunflower oil in another pan and cook the chicken while stirring.
(Or deep-fry until crispy, if desired)
Mix chicken with vegetables when it is cooked.
Stir corn starch mixture and add to pan.
Cook while stirring, for another 1-2 minutes.
Check for seasoning, add more if desired and serve cold :) Just kidding!
