FIsh pieces cooked in onion tomato masala gravy.TAMATAR WALI MACCHI Ingredients 4 pieces Surmai, darne2 tablespoons oil 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped2 green chillies, finely chopped4 medium onions, finely chopped 2½ cups tomato puree1 tablespoon red chilli paste Salt to taste1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1½ teaspoon turmeric powder½ tablespoon tamarind pulp 1 tablespoon coriander, choppedSteam rice for servingMethod 1. Heat oil in a non-stick deep pan. Add garlic, ginger & green chillies. Sauté till fragrant. 2. Add onions and mix well, cook till golden brown. Add tomato puree and red chilli paste, mix well. Cook till the oil separates. Add salt and mix well. 3. Add chilli powder & turmeric powder, mix well. 4. Add the fish and stir well. Cover and cook for 5-10 minutes.5.
