This one pot brown chickpeas recipe is super quick to make and tastes amazing.

TARIWALE CHANE

Ingredients

2 cups soaked brown chickpea (chane)
4 tbsps oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 green chillies, chopped
1 inch ginger, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
½ tsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsps freshly chopped coriander leaves
Onion rings to serve
Green chillies to serve
Lemon wedges to serve
Coriander sprig for garnish

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pressure cooker; add cumin seeds, green chillies, and ginger, sauté well.
2. Add tomato, sauté well and cook till soft and pulpy. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and sauté well.
3. Add chick peas and mix well. Add salt, 3 cups water and mix well. Cover and pressure cook on medium heat till 5-6 whistles are released.
4. Let the pressure release completely, add chopped coriander and mix well.
5. Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot with onion rings, green chillies, and lemon wedges.
