Tatale (Spiced Fried Mashed Plantain)

PREP TIME: 10 MINUTES
COOK TIME: 20 MINUTES
SERVES: 4-6

INGREDIENTS
2 ripe plantains
1 cup soft flour
3 scotch bonnet pepper
1 medium red onion
1 medium ginger
3 African orchid nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp black peppercorn
2 spring onions, chopped.
Vegetable Oil
Salt

DIRECTION
Blend scotch bonnet pepper, onion, ginger, cloves, black peppercorn and African orchid nutmeg into a smooth mixture.
Peel and cut the ripe plantains into big chunks.
Mash the plantains, add the blended mixture, salt, stir, add flour and mix.
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Scoop a spoonful of the mixture into the oil and shallow fry until golden brown.
place then on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Tatale ready to serve. Garnish with spring onion.
