Your favourite snack, dhokla gets an interesting version with a mix of colourful vegetables.

TAWA DHOKLA

Ingredients

1½ cups semolina
2 cups buttermilk
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tbsps grated beetroot
2 tbsps grated carrot
¼ cup crushed green peas
2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander
2-3 green chillies, chopped
½ tsp baking soda
Salt to taste
½ tsp Tata Sampann Chilli Powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
6-8 curry leaves
2- green chillies, slit
Green chutney for serving

Method

1. Take semolina in a bowl. Add buttermilk and mix well. Set aside for 10- 15 minutes.
2. Add onion, beetroot, carrot, green peas, coriander, green chillies, baking soda, salt and mix well.
3. Add Tata Sampann Chilli Powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
4. Heat a nonstick tawa and place a greased ring in the centre. Drizzle oil in the centre and add mustard seeds.
5. Once they begin to splutter, add curry leaves, green chillies and sauté well.
6. Pour the prepared batter and cover with a lid.
7. Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
8. Cut into squares and serve with green chutney.
