Tawa Mushroom | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Tawa Mushroom is an appetizing dish, which forms a part of the Mughlai cuisine. The veggies cooked are caramelized faster in a tawa and that’s how you get that taste. Watch the video and enjoy this treat.

TAWA MUSHROOM

Ingredients

8-10 button mushrooms, halved
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon butter + 1 teaspoon + for garnish
1 medium onion, finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon carom seeds
¼ teaspoon turmeric (haldi) powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 small green capsicum, finely chopped
1 tablespoon pav bhaji masala
Lemon slices for garnish
2 pavs for serving
Onion quarters for serving

Method

1. Heat oil on a non-stick tawa and add butter to it. Add onions, sauté till translucent.
2. Add salt and mix well. Add cumin and carom seeds, stir and mix well. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder, mix well.
4. Add tomatoes, stir and sauté well till the tomatoes become moist.
5. Add green chillies and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
6. Add green capsicum, stir and mix well. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
7. Add 1 teaspoon butter and sauté till melts and mixes well.
8. Add pav bhaji masala and mix well. Sprinkle some water and mash everything on tawa using a potato masher and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
9. Add the mushrooms and stir well. Sauté till mushrooms are cooked.
10. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with butter and lemon slices and serve hot with pav and onions.
