Spicy saucy mixture of onion tomato and capsicum sandwich between 2 slices of multigrain bread with cheese slices, toasted to perfection on a grill pan. A must try!

TAWA TOAST SANDWICH

Ingredients

1 multigrain bread loaf
1 medium green capsicum, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes + as required
1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs + as required
1 tablespoon butter + as required
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
Green chutney as required
Cheese slices as required
Few Iceberg lettuce leaves
Olive oil for drizzling

Method

1. Mix together capsicum, tomatoes, onion, green chillies, salt, chilli flakes, mixed herbs, butter and tomato ketchup on a plate.
2. Slice bread loaf.
3. Spread some butter and green chutney on the slices. Top half the slices with a portion of the prepared vegetable mixture.
4. Halve cheese slices and place on top of the mixture, cover with the remaining slices and press.
5. Heat some butter in a non-stick grill pan. Place the sandwiches in it and grill, basting with butter, till evenly done from both the sides and the cheese melts.
6. Halve and place on a serving plate.
7. Tear lettuce leaves. Add some mixed herbs, chilli flakes and drizzle some olive oil on top. Toss well and place alongwith the sandwich.
8. Serve immediately.
