This munchy is prepared with chunks of tofu, mixed with some masalas and crisp fried to perfection. The perfect snack for everyone!

TOFU POPCORN

Ingredients

200 grams firm tofu
½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
1½ tsps onion powder
Black salt to taste
A pinch of clove powder
½ tsp smoked paprika powder
¼ tsp crushed black peppercorns
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
2 tsps ginger-garlic green chilli paste
Refined flour slurry as required
1 cup dried breadcrumbs
Oil for deep frying
Tomato ketchup for serving
Mustard sauce for serving

Method

1. Transfer Kashniri red chilli powder, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, black salt, clove powder, smoked paprika powder, crushed black peppercorns, sugar and salt and grind to a fine powder.
2. Cut tofu into ½ inch cubes and transfer in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, salt and mix well.
3. Dip the tofu pieces in refined flour slurry and roll in dried breadcrumbs.
4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry till golden brown and crisp.
5. Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle 2-3 tsps of prepared spice mix on top.
6. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and mustard sauce.
