Tomato Chutney is the perfect condiment and the indian counterpart to tomato sauce. Adding a tangy flavour to every dish, the chutney should be a fixture at any dinner table.TOMATO CHUTNEYIngredients 2 medium tomatoes, chopped 1 tablespoon oil 1 teaspoon cumin seeds ½ teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)¼ teaspoon dried fenugreek seeds ½ teaspoon onion seeds (kalonji)1 teaspoon mustard seeds 3-4 dried red chillies 5-6 curry leaves1 medium onion, finely chopped 1 teaspoon red chilli powder1 teaspoon coriander powder¼ teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste 1 teaspoon sugarMethod1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, dried fenugreek seeds, onion seeds and mustard seeds and sauté till mustard seeds splutter. 2. Add broken dried red chillies and curry leaves and let the curry leaves crackle. Add onion and sauté till golden brown. 3. Add tomatoes and sauté till soft and pulpy. Add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder, mix and cook for 1 minute. 4. Add salt and mix. Add ¼ cup water, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes or till the moisture evaporates.
