A great and popular recipe of dal with the perfect balance of sweet and sour.TOOR NU KHATTI MEETHI DALIngredients1½ cups Tata Sampann Organic Toor Dal 2 tbsps lemon juice1½ tbsps chopped jaggery2-3 green chillies½ tsp turmeric powderSalt to taste2 tbsps raw peanuts1 small tomato, finely chopped2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves1 tbsp oil1 tsp mustard seeds½ tsp cumin seeds¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)2 cloves8-10 curry leaves2-3 dried button red chillies¼ tsp red chilli powderMethod1. Take Tata Sampann Organic Toor Dal and wash it with water for 2-3 times. Transfer into a pressure cooker with sufficient water and cook for 2-3 whistles.2. Cut green chillies diagonally. Set aside.3. Open the cooker once the pressure has reduced completely, transfer the cooked gram in a deep non-stick pan and whisk well. Add ½ cup water and continue to whisk till smooth. 4. Add turmeric powder, salt and jaggery into the cooked gram mixture and mix well. Allow the mixture come to a boil. 5. Add peanuts, tomato, chopped coriander and lemon juice and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.6. Meanwhile, heat oil in a tempering pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter, add ½ tsp cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add asafoetida, cloves, chopped green chillies and curry leaves, dried button dried red chillies and red chilli powder and take the pan off the heat.7. Transfer the tempering into the dal and mix well.
