Traditional Podi Potta Jeera Rasam! Meenamas Recipe! Watch the Rasam in Dallas atmosphere!

#sujanfunkitchen is here with another #traditional recipe by #Meenama - my stay in Dallas has compelled me to make videos on #Meenamas behalf. Nevertheless I have tried my best to follow her recipe exactly.
Podi Potta Jeera Rasam
Ingredients:
Tamarind - lemon sized
Tur dal - 1 tsp
Black pepper - tsp
Cumin seeds - tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - to taste
Rasam powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Method:
Soak the tamarind in 3 cups of lukewarm water for 20 mins
Extract the tamarind water using clean hands
Meanwhile grind coarsely Tur dal, black pepper and cumin seeds
Add the coarsely ground powder to the tamarind water
Add rasam powder
Add Salt
Let everything come to a bubbly boil
Now heat some ghee in a small tadka pan
Add the mustard seeds and let them splutter
Now add the curry leaves and quickly toss
Add the tempering to the Podi Potta Jeera Rasam
Enjoy the Rasam with steaming hot rice and ghee
